For the, longest time, my air fryer was mostly used for roasting veggies and homemade chicken wings (both of which it does spectacularly btw) But, lately, I've been trying to branch out and cook more things in the air fryer. This pork chop recipe is my first big hit and for good reason!

Ingredients and Substitutions
I used some pretty basic seasonings, but you could easily change it up with your favorites. I think using ranch or taco seasoning in place of the ones I have listed would be phenomenal and I plan on trying one of those the next time I make this.
Here is what you will need:
- Boneless pork chops - Save money but cutting a pork loin into chops! You can also use this recipe with chicken tenders or thighs!
- Almond Flour or use crushed pork rinds
- Grated Parmesan Cheese for this recipe the cheap, Kraft parmesan works best.
- Garlic Powder, Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning, and Paprika see my note above about the seasoning.
FAQs
How do I prevent the pork chops from becoming dry?
To prevent dryness, avoid overcooking the pork chops. Use an instant-read thermometer to check that the internal temperature reaches around 145°F (63°C) for medium-rare or 160°F (71°C) for medium.
Can I use bone-in pork chops instead of boneless?
Yes, bone-in pork chops can be cooked in an air fryer. The cooking time might be slightly longer than boneless chops due to the bone.
Do I need to preheat the air fryer before cooking?
Preheating the air fryer can help achieve even cooking and better browning. Preheat the air fryer to the recommended temperature before adding the pork chops.
How should I store and reheat leftovers?
Store leftover pork chops in the fridge or freezer. For the best results, I suggest allowing them to thaw fully if frozen, and reheating them in the air fryer at 425 degrees for 3-5 minutes or until heated through.
Can I bake these pork chops in the oven instead?
If you don't have an air fryer, you can bake these in the oven at 350 degrees F for about 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through. The time may vary depending on how thick your chops are. I also like to bake them on a baking rack to prevent the bottoms from getting soggy.

Do you think potato starch could be used in place of almond flour?
Reply
Sabra says
I've never used potato starch so I am not really sure. I would maybe try it with just one pork chop first and see how it goes. If you do, let me know how it turns out!

Susan says
Don't use potato starch if you are on keto. Lots of carbs. Try coating with mustard and putting the chops in a bag with ranch dressing powder. You will be amazed.

Mine did not turn out crispy and brown. Any ideas what I may have done wrong? First air fryer attempt.
Reply
Sabra says
My best guess is that you may need to turn up the temp on your air fryer a little. If that doesn't work, try spritzing them with a little olive oil before air frying and that should help as well.
If you try it again let me know how it goes!

I made this today, my birthday. It's a winner! My family loved it. Only thing, I put 370 in the air fryer oven and cooked it first for 15 minutes and then 10 more minutes. But overall, this recipe is a winner...so yummy..I will make it again in Christmas.
Thanks for sharing

This recipe with pork rinds makes them SO crispy, with the almond flour and parm cheese! The pork rind recipe my entire family was in AWE OVER!!! IT WAS CRAZY GOOD with Tonys, Paprika, and garlic powder!

Can I use coconut flour instead of almond?
Reply
Sabra says
Coconut flour doesn't work quite as well for me, since it is so absorbent it's hard to get it really crispy without drying out the pork chops too much

Made this tonight and it was yummy! Used Cajun seasoning in stead of creole and added McCormick’s pink Himalayan salt and herb blend.

My husband usually isn't a fan of my "diet" food, but he told me to keep this recipe. Came out crispy, moist and evenly cooked! I used homemade ranch seasoning which gave it a great flavor. Keep these family friendly recipes coming 🙂

Can I just use regular flour?
Reply
Sabra says
Regular flour won't crisp up like the almond flour, but you could sub panko!

I made these for dinner tonight and these were the best pork chops I’ve made yet. My chops were bigger so I cooked them longer in my air fryer. I definitely will make these again. Thanks for a great recipe!

Can you use plain pork rinds instead of flour.?

Renee G. says
Yep, that’s what I used tonight! Actually I used spicy ones. The whole family loved them. I did have to cook them about twice as long as indicated, but I used really thick chops.

This recipe sounds fantastic and I am anxious to try it. I do have one question. Under NOTES it states 2g carbs. It also says 1 net carb and under nutrition it says Carbohydrates 0g. Please clarify.
Reply
Sabra says
Hi Sandra! This recipe has 2g of total carbs per pork chop, and 1g of Fiber which makes 1 Net Carb. Net carbs are calculated by the total carbs minus the fiber, sorry for any confusion, hope that helps!

Have you tried this with bone-in pork chops?

I haven't but I'm sure that it would work fine 🙂 You may need to adjust the cooking time a little bit, but otherwise, the recipe would be the same

Have you tried wheat flour before?
Reply
Sabra says
No, I haven't, but I am fairly certain that it wouldn't get crispy. If you aren't concerned with keeping the carbs low, your best bet would probably be breadcrumbs - panko or regular. Hope that helps!

I hate to give this only four stars because it tasted absolutely delicious. The meat was so juicy and flavorful. Love how quick it was to prep & cook However it wasn't the least bit crispy! And I was really looking forward to a crispy pork chop.

Hi. Sabre. I'm a single guy who likes to eat but hates having to messup the whole kitchen for just one. I made this recipe tonight. This fat boy is happy. It's easy fast and taste great. Thanks and I can't wait to try some of you other recipes.

I just made these and they are amazing!! I made them as a meal prep and I’m bummed they won’t stay as crispy after being in the fridge, but I will definitely make them again for my family to try!

This is one of the only recipes I have that the whole family loves!!! I omit the Parmesan to make it dairy free (I’m allergic) but they still absolutely love it. My daughter calls it “the good chicken” even though it’s pork chops, but it’s a compliment since pork chops always had a bad name in our house. Thanks!

Just FYI, if you are using the Tony’s spice, you cannot label this gluten free as they use wheat in their spice mix. It’s not safe for those suffering with celiac disease.

Brandy says
Tony’s creole is not gluten free!!! It’s says wheat on the ingredients list.

I really liked the breading, although I substituted cajun seasoning with the creole since it’s what I have. I also lightly seasoned my pork chops with salt and pepper prior to putting it in the breading mix. The pork chops came out pretty pale from the air fryer but I didn’t want to cook it to death. So I ended up pan frying it for a couple of minutes on each side to give it a nice brown. It turned out beautiful and delicious. Will definitely make it again although I may opt to just bake it instead for next time.
